17th February, 2010. Today the Developer Team Of SIL4S Ltd announces the immediate availability of the Tool4S Software: tool4sdemo.sil4s.com.
In 2005, we started the development of web based HAZOP study software aiming for the following goals:
Web based SW
- The SW follows the IEC 61511 (ANSI/ISA—84.00.01—2004) standard life cycle philosophy
- A multi-user SW, i.e. several users can work on the same project simultaneously
- The HAZOP part of the SW matches the EN 61882 HAZOP study Standard
- LOPA part of the SW uses the cumulative LOPA method and calculates the target SIL and target RRF values automatically.
Tool4S is running either on:
- Individual laptop
- SIL4S server
- Company Server with dedicated license.
We split the task into three separate activities:
- HAZARD and Risk analysis according to IEC 61511 Safety Life Cycle Phase 1 (HAZOP)
- Allocation of safety function to protection layers according to IEC 61511 Safety Life Cycle Phase 2 (LOPA)
- Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) for SIS according to IEC 61511 Safety Life Cycle Phase 3 .
The advantage of HAZOP and LOPA integration is:
- Common database saves time by avoiding multiple repeated activity
- Homogeneity of the Safety documentation
- One SW for one task/project.
